Major Sessis' non FMF tours include service as: Officer Selection Officer, Recruiting Station Los Angeles, California; Platoon Commander, Officer Candidate School, Quantico Virginia; Commanding Officer, Marine Detatchment, USS Long Beach (CGN-9); Commanding Officer, MCSF Training Company, Marine Corps Security Force Battalion, Atlantic, Norfolk, Virginia; Tactics Instructor and Deputy Director for Curriculum Development, Amphibious Warfare School, Quantico, Virginia. Major Sessis retired from active duty in 1997. He has been the Senior Marine Instructor at Daniel Boone High School's Marine Corps Junior ROTC since May 1997. Major Sessis holds bachelors and masters degrees in education and is a graduate of the Basic School, US Army Armor Officer Course, Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare Course, Amphibious Warfare School, Command and Staff College, US Army Airborne School, US Army Anti-Terrorism Instructors Course, US Army Pre-Command Course, US Navy Nuclear Weapons Security Officer Course, US Navy Intelligence Course, and the Instructional Management Course. A veteran of Operations Nimble Archer, Valiant Usher, and Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Major Sessis' personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with three gold stars, and the Army Achievement Medal.
In June 2006, Sergeant Wilcox reported to Marine Combat Instructor Course, School of Infantry (East). He served in Delta Company, Infantry Training Battalion for duty as a Combat Instructor. In January 2008, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In July 2009, Staff Sergeant Wilcox reported to Fox Company, 2D Battalion, 2D Marines where he served as a rifle and weapons platoon sergeant. In October 2009, Staff Sergeant Wilcox deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Two months after returning from deployment, Staff Sergeant Wilcox was selected to redeploy to Hohenfels, Germany to serve as an Observer/Controller and assisted in the certification of the Georgian 32D Light Infantry Battalion for their deployment to Afghanistan. In March 2011, Staff Sergeant Wilcox was deployed to sea for 10 months with Battalion Landing Team 2/2, 22D Marine Expeditionary Unit in support of NATO Operation Unified Protected operating in the 5th and 6th Fleet areas of operation. In June 2012, Staff Sergeant Wilcox was reassigned to Headquarters Battalion, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California where he served as a Company Gunnery Sergeant and Battalion Operations Chief. In April 2014, he was meritoriously promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. In December 2014, Gunnery Sergeant Wilcox reported to Lima Company, 3D Battalion, 7th Marines where he served as a Company Gunnery Sergeant and Weapons Company Operations Chief. In March 2015, he deployed to the U.S. Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq as part of the Special Purpose MAGTF – Crisis Response – Central Command in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. In June 2016, Gunnery Sergeant Wilcox reported to Headquarters and Service Battalion, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia where he was assigned as the Service Company Gunnery Sergeant. In February 2018, he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant and was reassigned to Warfighting Instructor Company, Combat Instructor Battalion, The Basic School, Quantico, Virginia. In February 2019, while at The Basic School, First Sergeant Wilcox was assigned as the Company First Sergeant for Warrant Officer Basic Course 1-19. Upon graduation of the class, First Sergeant Wilcox received orders to Company C, 4th Tank Battalion, Boise, Idaho for duty as the Inspector-Instructor First Sergeant. First Sergeant Wilcox retired from the Marine Corps in February 2022. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal 4th award, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat ‘V’ 4th award, Combat Action Ribbon 2nd award, and the Combat Instructor Ribbon. The Avanti 887 and Crosman Challenger .177 caliber pellet rifles used by the team exhibit similar ballistic characteristics as a small bore .22 caliber rifle, but are easier to handle and are much safer to use in a training or competitive environment. The team has won awards in the state, regional, and national levels.

Participation in team activities, attendance to regular study sessions, and showing a positive work ethic are keystones for team selection. The team competes in a number of events throughout the school year. With the ultimate goal of selection to the JROTC Leadership and Academic Bowl (JLAB) national championship, held annually in Washington D.C.
